CarePorch Privacy Policy

CarePorch is operated by Salinger and Dalley Holdings, Inc. This policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use CarePorch, including the CarePorch mobile app and related services.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, including:
- Account information such as your name, email address, and login details.
- Profile information such as your photo, caregiving role, about text, and optional location text.
- Community content such as messages, direct messages, group conversations, reactions, reports, photos, and videos you choose to share.
- Support requests and other messages you send to us.
We also collect app and device information needed to operate and improve CarePorch, including device identifiers, push-notification tokens, app version, crash logs, diagnostics, performance data, and limited analytics information. The current Android app build may include the Android advertising ID permission through a third-party SDK; CarePorch does not use it to show ads.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Create and manage accounts.
- Provide community channels, private groups, direct messages, uploads, and notifications.
- Moderate community spaces, enforce safety rules, prevent abuse, and respond to reports.
- Provide support, troubleshoot issues, and improve app reliability.
- Protect CarePorch, our users, and the public from fraud, abuse, or security threats.
- Comply with legal obligations.
Health and Caregiving Information
CarePorch is a caregiver support community. You may choose to share caregiving or health-related information in your profile, messages, or groups. Please share only information you are comfortable sharing with the people who can see that space. CarePorch is not a medical service and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information:
- With service providers that help us run CarePorch, such as authentication, chat, cloud hosting, push-notification, email, analytics, and crash-reporting providers.
- With other CarePorch users according to the community, group, direct-message, and profile features you use.
- When needed for safety, security, legal compliance, or to protect rights and prevent harm.
- As part of a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
Your Choices
You can update some profile information in the app, remove profile photos where supported, manage community privacy and notification settings, leave or delete private groups where permitted, block users, and report content. You can also contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of your account information.
Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide CarePorch, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect community safety. Some information may remain in backups or logs for a limited period after deletion.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
CarePorch is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide notice when appropriate.
